Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival is one of Canada’s largest non-profit Shakespeare Festivals, celebrating their 26th season this summer!
The Festival was established in 1990, with the vision to provide Vancouver residents and visitors affordable Shakespearean productions. The Festival brings forth thirty actors, a team of directors, designers and technicians and then is also supported by more then 200 volunteers each season.

Vancouver Folk Music Festival
July 17th-19th
With this being the 38th edition if you haven’t experienced the traditions of Folk Music yet then this year should be the year.
If Grammy-winning musician, Taj Mahal, singer-songwriter and guitarist Richard Thompson aren’t enough to get you excited, the Vancouver festival welcomes music from Africa! With the return of the much loved Bassekou Koyate & Ngoni Ba as well as kora players Sousou & Maher Cissoko, the samba sounds of Angola’s Paulo Flores, and South African star Bongeziwe Mabandla and more intriguing music to experience are the Kurdish sounds of Nishtiman, the energizing sounds of Venezuela’s La Gallera Social Club and whats not to love about Scottish bagpipes played by Breabach. There’s many many other great artists from around the globe so be sure to check this summer’s local festival out!.
Squamish Music Festival
August 7th & 8th & 9th
A summer is not summer without attending at least one out of this world giant music festival. Celebrating their 5 year anniversary Squamish Music Festival will ease the cravings with the soft sounds of Sam Smith, Drake or Mumford & Sons. With a huge line up of more contemporary artists (and some local) who fill the 3 days up across the four stages.
